About me

I love working with young children. There's nothing like it. They are unpredictable, comedic, and lovable. It has been my life's passion to educate and guide children and families through the adventure of early childhood. I have been a Head Preschool Teacher in one of New York's best and most progressive preschools, Williamsburg Northside, owned and operated my own after school science program, The Curious Child Brooklyn, been interviewed for and written various articles surrounding topics of early childhood education, filled the role as Education Director of a small one-room school, Brooklyn Schoolhouse, and coached and lent support to parents regarding early childhood questions, all in Brooklyn, New York.

I hold a Master's from NYU in Childhood and Special Education. I also have a BFA in Theatre from Elon University, which also often comes in handy when working with young children. Moment to moment living and flexibility are important skills when working with children and I believe my background in theatre has helped me do this with those I teach. All that I do is through a child-centered and play-based lens. The philosophies that guide my teaching are the Reggio Emilia and Montessori approach.

"Our image of the child is rich in potential, strong, powerful, competent and most of all, connected to adults and other children."
